About Brandyn Thomas

I am a Plant IT Technician with JBS USA. My passion is to remove technological barriers my customers face each day. A motto I live by:"Give a person a fish, they eat for a day; teach a person to fish and they eat for a lifetime." I'm experienced in technical support, communications, account management, change management, networking, customer service, leadership and project management. Some examples include instituting new hire classes explaining Technical Fundamentals to our end-users, explaining how to receive IT Support, and my personal favorite, teaching self support procedures to ease technological barriers and to encourage independence. Another example would be writing technical documentation in a way that ensures the customer is empowered to reach out to IT for any questions and concerns while having the opportunity to self-service. Some major projects I accomplished - Leading the installation & configuration of Monitron equipment sensors and gateways at FSD1. This contributes towards $20 million in savings by preemptively sensing conveyance and mechanical faults before they occur- Launching FSD1 in Sioux Falls, SD. FSD1 is a 6 floor Robotics sortable fulfilment facility. 2m+ sqft with robots, 400+ Ubuntu 20.04LTS Stations powered by the Cisco 9300 Switches, cisco APs, and 800 Bosch Flexidome Cameras, and 29 IDFs with Cisco 9300/9500 Switches- Working with various Stakeholders to achieve 100% Operational Readiness Testing for the FSD1 Launch, one month ahead of schedule- Leading the installation and configuration of our Kermit Tote transporter robots at FSD1. This allows Amazon Associates to transport orders directly across the Fulfillment Center without having to manually transport - Procuring and sourcing all end user IT equipment for three Fulfillment Center launches in Memphis, all Launching between June 2020 and November 2020. I initiated central Onboarding for all new support staff and managers in the Memphis area at our MEM2 location. This allowed for smooth transition into their new roles, setting them up for success.
