About Branny Guido

Since I've started school I've been very involved with helping people, leading a greater cause, and volunteering. That passion drove me to go to school for Social Work and Spanish, to help people and to further grasp my knowledge of the spanish language, as it is my native language, to help a wider range of the population. For years in college I ran the A.L.P.H.A.(Academics, Leadership, Public Service, Humanity, and Acceptance) club, that involved volunteering for the Center for Student Accessibility and I personally worked with for over 4 years. I've even volunteered with other campus organizations such as the Gay Straight Alliance, The poetry club, and the Women's center. This helped me expand my leadership skills as I had to plan events on and off campus to raise funds for our many efforts and charities, After finishing college I was able to recieve an intership at the Jewish Community Center as a Case Worker for the senior population and eventually transfered to full-time as the program assistant of Arts & Culture, and later on Self-Help coordinator at the Jewish Community Center of Staten Island. The program was funded by the Department For The Aging (DFTA) a city run, grant based program that helps active adults socialize and become more active within their own communities while offering services that would benefit them and their lives.
