About Braxton Mills

I am a software engineer and co-founder with a passion for creating innovative and user-friendly applications. I have a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Certificate of Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin, where I learned the fundamentals of programming, data structures, algorithms, and databases. As a Software Engineer II at Windstream, I work on the ChatBots team, developing and deploying conversational agents that enhance customer service and engagement. I use cloud-based technologies to build scalable and secure backend solutions. I also have extensive experience with front-end development, using React and SwiftUI to create responsive and intuitive interfaces. In addition to my full-time role, I am the co-founder and full-stack engineer of socal, a social calendar app that helps users discover and join local events based on their interests and preferences. I started socal as a side project, but it has grown to attract hundreds of users and positive feedback. As Chief Technical Officer, I am responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, using GPT-related tech to generate personalized and relevant recommendations. I enjoy working on socal whenever I can, as it allows me to apply my skills and creativity to solve real-world problems and create value for others.
