About Brayan Medina

I am a cross-functional engineer passionate for aeronautical industry, motorsport and committed to today’s challenges, particularly Sustainable Transport and Industry 4.0. Currently, I am studying at University of Basque Country two Master's Degrees: MEng Mechanical Engineering (120 ECTS) and MSc Aeronautical Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing (60 ECTS). Before that, I graduated at the same university in Bsc Mechanical Engineering (2:1). My thesis project, which I found very motivating, focused on design, analysis and manufacturing of the set of floorboards and footpegs for a racing motorbike. My studies give me the opportunity to attent engineering congresses like the 22nd Congress of Machine Tool and Advanced Manufacturing (San Sebastián,2019) in which I met the new challenges that the manufacturing industry have to face (Digitalization, Industry 4.0, Additive Manufacturing). I am immersed in the motostudent project, participating in the Bizkaia ESI Bilbao team, thah participates in the International Motostudent Championship. The goal is to apply all the knowledge acquired during the university studies in a real industria project by designing, developing and manufacturing a real racing motorbike prototype. This challenge it allowed me to developing my skills at working in a team. Thanks to the philosophy of maximum efficiency and boldness we get a meritorious seventh place in the race held at Motorland Circuit in October 2018 (47 participants). Moreover, I was an intern for a year in the Mechanical Department at Simtec Ingeniería SL, where I developed mi skills in mechanical design of tool die components (matrix, punch, blanckholder, etc) with CATIA V5 and Siemens NX for automotive industry. Finally, regardng my hobbies,I am a big rugby fan and never miss a chance to watch a game with my friends. I also practice it since I was in secondary school, which has inculcated me with a strong team building spirit.
