About Brayton Juffer

I'm a certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with hands-on experience in manufacturing and mechanical design engineering, driven by a passion for solving real-world problems through innovative and efficient solutions. While pursuing my Mechanical Engineering degree, I gained valuable industry experience through multiple internships that exposed me to both the manufacturing and design sides of engineering. At Pella Corporations' Sioux Center Operations, I became familiar with key manufacturing processes and concepts such as lean manufacturing and standard work. I collaborated with engineers to solve production issues and implement creative solutions that improved both efficiency and safety. These experiences allowed me to work closely with team members to bring functional designs to life and address day-to-day challenges on the manufacturing floor. At 3D Engineered Solutions, Inc, an engineering consulting firm based in Hull, I joined a small team designing custom products for clients across a wide range of industries. This role sharpened my technical design skills and gave me valuable insight into flexible, client-focused engineering solutions. Since graduating in May, I’ve been working full-time as a Mechanical Design Engineer at SmithCo, where I contribute to projects involving 3D modeling, electrical and hydraulic print design, and research and development aimed at improving product performance, manufacturability, and overall quality. Throughout my education and work experience, my passion for hands-on engineering, organization, and maintaining a strong work ethic has only grown. I thrive in roles where I can dive into the technical details, collaborate across teams, and continuously improve both products and processes.
