About Bree Williams

Hey there! I’m a formally educated engineer turned UX Researcher. As an engineering and UX Researcher, I’ve become enthusiastic about problem solving; there is usually more than one way to get things done. After graduating college, I started in the Virtual Design & Construction industry, working for a major general contractor as a Virtual Coordinator and an Assistant Manager in the Visualizations Department. My engineering and VDC background have taught me to love constant learning, to always ask why, and how to communicate complex information effectively. Why UX Research? While working with construction technology daily, I have had a few of my own frustrations/challenges while working with construction technology and I want to be an integral part of solving those issues to help simplify the processes. I have been in my share of Lunch ‘n’ learns, construction program sales pitches, official trainings and focus groups. Around the time of my promotion to Asst VDC Manager I learned about UX Design. After taking General Assembly’s UX Design course I found that UX Research is my niche because it combines research, data-driven designs, and unique problem solving. My natural interest in UX research methods and workflows have led to me expanding the knowledge I gained formally. I attend classes hosted by Research Bookmark, participate in UX communities on LinkedIn and Slack, and practice completing design challenges.
