About Breeann Williams

I hold a BA in Criminology with a minor in Indigenous Community Justice from Kwantlen Polytechnic University (2023), where I focused much of my academic and community-based research on human rights, sexual violence, Indigenous justice, mental health, restorative justice, youth justice, and trauma-informed care. Throughout my education and career, I’ve had the privilege of working across various frontline and survivor-centered roles — including as a live-in youth worker, harm reduction and addiction support worker, and respite provider. These experiences shaped my passion for systems change, particularly in the areas of youth justice and sex trafficking prevention. I am currently the SEEN ((Support, Education, Empowerment, Navigation) Project Facilitator with Surrey Women's Centre which is a 3 year new initative focusing to expand organizational capacity to support youth survivors (ages 13-24) of gender based violence. As an Embedded Support Worker with the Surrey Police Youth Exploitation Liaison Team, I provide immediate, trauma-informed support to youth at risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation. I work collaboratively with police and community agencies to ensure youth receive access to safety planning, emotional support, and individualized care. I bring a multidisciplinary lens to everything I do and am committed to practicing with trauma informed practices, empathy, cultural safety, and integrity. I’m always open to connecting with others who are working to support youth and survivors.
