About Breeya Brown
My interests intersect between the digital humanities, archival practices, and history. Courses that I have taught or currently teach focus on applying primary sources to contextualize history or teaching basic archival practices. As an archivist librarian, I manage born-digital records and the digitization of special collections and university archives. My mission in working in the field are processing the collections of and creating metadata for collections that showcase unique and ordinary lives, LGBTQ2S+,and/or BIPOC individuals and communities. In doing this, I engage with innovative and commonly used archival management systems, digital preservation systems, software, as well as old and new technologies. My research and publications cross-over to Archival Studies, Central American Studies, and Environmental Sciences.
