About Brena Sheehy

I’m a registered lobbyist with the State of California and bring 20+ years of experience in public policy advocacy, healthcare, and the insurance industry to my work at Sheehy Strategy Group (SSG). My background combines deep industry knowledge with a passion for helping organizations navigate complex policy and regulatory landscapes. After earning my B.S. in Business Administration (Risk Management & Insurance) from Fresno State, I worked in California’s property, casualty, and health insurance sectors. I was part of the launch team for the Health Insurance Plan of California (HIPC), a first-of-its-kind state purchasing pool that expanded access to affordable health insurance for small and mid-sized businesses. As Director of Sales, I led statewide market development and outreach. Later, I joined CIBA Vision (a Novartis company), where I served as a top-performing territory sales rep for the western region, further honing my skills in client engagement and strategic communication. Since joining SSG, I’ve represented clients in education, parental rights, and business trade associations, and have served as a strategic advisor to the firm since its inception. I’m driven by a commitment to clear communication, data-informed strategy, and long-term client success.
