About Brenda Bedolla

Brenda holds double Bachelors degrees in Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies from Northeastern Illinois University.During her time at NEIU, Brenda served in an array of leadership positions both on and off campus. Brenda is a dynamic, innovative and personable leader who is passionate about social justice and access to higher education for under represented student populations. Prior to NEIU, Brenda attended Morton College where she earned Academic All-American honors in cross country. She also was President of the Morton Ambassador Program, chaired the HOPE Scholarship Committee, hosted “Panther Central” on the College’s Intranet radio station and wrote a column for the student newspaper. In 2012, Brenda was awarded the Illinois Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Award. Every year, the Illinois Lincoln Academy Student Laureate academy honors honor students at each of the four-year, degree-granting institutions in Illinois for overall excellence, in both curricular and extra-curricular programs and are inducted as Laureates into the Order of Lincoln, which is the state’s highest honor. The entire community college system comprised of 48 institutions receives one nomination per year. Brenda was the recipient for the entire Illinois Community College system in 2012 and the second to receive the prestigious award in the history of her institution (Morton College).
