Background
About Brendan Cahill
My first job was a busboy at the Country Club (not a member!) I then became a cook in college and, after graduating I went to learn at my Uncle's restaurant in Washington D.C - Whitlow's on Wilson - working from server to manager! I then pursued a passion of mine, the craft beer industry. I joined the largest beer distributor in the country with Reyes Holdings. I cultivated and crafted 120 accounts in the Northern Virginia area providing reliable account management, relationship-driven sales development, and the most superior customer service. That transitioned to working for a Top 20 Craft Brewer in Abita Brewery. I was an Area Leader overseeing the states of Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, and Eastern Pennsylvania. I managed 20 distributors and drove partnership-relations, represented the brand at events, and drove new product roll-outs in each state. Recently I've been involved with two of the hottest Fast-Casual Dining brands in the Country; Shake Shack and Sweetgreen. I opened the California Market in Los Angeles for Shake Shack with its first three stores in West Hollywood, Glendale, and Hollywood. I trained 20 managers in the first 6 months to help open our future stores. We drove culture, obsessing over the team member experience and best-in-class numbers on the West Coast. When I started at Sweetgreen I was responsible for the companies R&D location in Culver City called "The Lab." At the The Lab we tested new recipes, new menu innovations, and new procedural and packaging initiatives to better help our field operations. We strive for simplification to allow for multiplication. I opened our first Delivery Kitchen in 2019. We were a bit ahead of the demand for that space and unprecedented for us that time, and then created a best practice model to help for future initiatives there. I took a sabbatical and worked for a local restaurant group that bought control of two of LA's most iconic restaurants: The Apple Pan and Nate N Al's Deli. I was the operations manager and effectively ran both locations. Brand growth didn't happen as planned and I was welcomed back to Sweetgreen where I became a Certified Training Store GM and went on to develop multiple leaders for our LA Market. My next, but not last chapter at Sweetgreen will be spreading our mission into San Diego + Inland Empire. Onward and Upward!
