About Brendan Eirich
I am registered as a P.Eng with APEGA and I am currently working as a project engineer for ATCO Pipelines. I decided to focus my education around two central themes: the technical aspects of materials engineering, such as metallurgy, failure analysis, phase transformations, and mechanical properties, as well as less technical skills related to safety and risk management. I feel that to be a good engineer, the technical must be met with the humanitarian, and as such, this decision seemed natural. I have a diverse set of interests which has proven to be invaluable, as I have been able to assess engineering problems from a wide variety of angles and it has better allowed me to contextualize my role as an engineer in society. I am an avid musician, and I have been playing musical instruments for the past seventeen years. I have been playing recorder and flute for that whole time, and I have played piccolo, saxophone and clarinet for over ten years now. While I am only at the of beginning my career, I ultimately want to expand my skill set to potentially include an MBA or an MEng, to position myself for a management role, as throughout my education, I have learned that this is where my true passion lies.
