About Brendan McTear

My first job was working for my architect home builder father at the age of 12. It was unskilled labor. Shoveling gravel. Carrying lumber. Picking up trash. As the boss's kid, I gave it my all for $5 an hour in the hot sun while skilled carpenters built a home around me. Even though my future was a scholarship to a prep school and college, I still approach every job like someone whose name and honor have to stand behind his work. In 2003 I started on the ground floor working in the warehouse one of the nation's largest DVD distributors. I worked my way up to warehouse Receiving Manager and then successfully transitioned into the company's Accounting Department in 2006. Since then I have become an important member of the team and an asset to the company. I am often given special projects and have improved processes reducing waste and saving money. I always give 100% and am ready to go above and beyond.I specialize in accounts payable, general ledger analysis, inventory analysis, warehouse receiving and inventory returns to vendor, cash management, sales tax, credit memo collections, bank reconciliation, royalty payments, customer returns analysis and reporting.I have gained logistical understanding of online/mail order retailing from over 12 years of experience. I am detail oriented and an intelligent thinker. I like to learn on the job and am not afraid to ask the "dumb" questions that save everyone time and money. I work well in teams and excel on my own initiative. Software background with Excel 2013 v14.0, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Ecometry, Ability CSS.
