About Brendan Mohan

Hello, my name is Brendan Mohan, and I am a Northeast Ohio native and proud first-generation graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, licensed in the state of Ohio. I am deeply committed to the legal community and giving back to the region where I was raised. I enjoy mentoring students, volunteering at local businesses and food banks, and participating in Akron Law Cares annually. During my final year of law school, I worked at the local public defender's office, where I represented and defended individuals accused of misdemeanors and felonies. Today, I continue to give back through my monthly volunteer work with Community Legal Aid, assisting with expungements and providing legal advice to those in need, and as an Exchange Scholar for the National Constitution Center. During my time at Akron Law, I was a member of Akron's Trial Team and a student coach for the Akron Law Honors Moot Court. As Production Editor for Akron Law Review, I honed my passion for writing, winning several national legal writing competitions and publishing multiple articles with additional work forthcoming. I currently work as the 2024-2025 Goodyear Legal Fellow at Goodyear’s headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Previously, I worked as a Summer Associate at Brennan Manna & Diamond, specializing in healthcare and labor and employment law. My early experiences include clerking for The Goldberg Law Firm in criminal defense, where I drafted motions and trial documents, conducted legal research, and attended federal and state trials as a part of the Goldberg Trial Team. I also clerked for the City of Beachwood, addressing municipal, zoning, constitutional, and criminal law issues. Prior to that, I was a law clerk at the Law Office of Tim Thomas in Ravenna, Ohio. Additionally, I was the first undergraduate student to be a legal intern with the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. I had the honor of being an extern for Judge Nugent in the Northern District of Ohio, in Cleveland, Ohio. Outside of my legal involvements, I maintain strong ties to Cleveland’s sports industry and enjoy staying actively engaged in my local community.
