Health & Safety Professional | Fire Safety | CSCS Trainer | GAA Referee Development | Match Official Tutor I am an experienced Health and Safety Officer with a strong technical background and over 15 years of specialised expertise in occupational health, fire safety, and safety training. I currently serve as the Health and Safety Officer at Munster Technological University (Kerry Campus), where I apply a structured and evidence-based approach to health and safety management across the campus. My academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Fire Safety Engineering & Design (2023) from Atlantic Technological University – Donegal Campus, a Master’s Degree in Occupational Health (QQI Level 9), and a Civil Engineering background (Ordinary Degree, Level 7). In addition to my core role, I’m a part-time safety trainer with Must Do Training and an approved trainer with LASNTG in Climate Action Awareness for outdoor workers. I am also an accredited CSCS trainer for: Signing, Lighting & Guarding (SLG) Location of Underground Services (LUGS) Health & Safety at Roadworks Previously, I worked with Cork County Council for nearly two decades in both civil engineering and health & safety advisory roles. GAA Involvement | Referee Development & Education I am a retired GAA referee, formerly on the Munster Football Referee Panel and the National Support Panel. I remain active in the development of match officials through various roles: Secretary, Limerick GAA Referees Association Member, Limerick GAA Referee Committee Umpire for an intercounty GAA Football Referee Referee Advisor (Football & Hurling), Munster GAA and Limerick GAA Sport Ireland Accredited Match Official Development Tutor I deliver structured, tutor-led training sessions for new referees, umpires, and Referee academy members across both hurling and football, with a focus on clarity, rules application, and performance development.
