Background

About Brendon Dyer

The United States produces $2.3 trillion worth of product annually, and employs 12.8 million Americans in the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing in the U.S.A. means you’re close to customers. Being close to customers allows you to get products out quickly without blowing margins, and receive feedback that can be quickly acted upon to make your products better. Demand is always variable. Implementing lean processes allows the factory to seamlessly streamline product through the factory, and create a more dependable supply output. High cost of labor means reducing waste elsewhere, and lean practices are the first step to improving margins while manufacturing in the United States. I am Brendon Dyer, a Mechanical Engineer for The Baker Company, manufacturer of biological safety cabinets. I have acquired a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Maine in May of 2017. Through my education and work experience, I consider myself proficient in 2D and 3D design, SolidEdge, Fabrication, Excel, Solid Mechanics, Lean Practices, and project management. I am currently preparing for the FE exam, to acquire the EIT certification. As a Mechanical Engineer at The Baker Company, my day to day duties include compiling bill of materials for modified product, designing customized product and associated cost estimates, analyzing and implementing change requests, implementing lean processes, managing projects, and managing/implementing business initiatives. I recently received a certificate in Project Management from Northeastern University’s Roux Institute. I invite you to look at my capstone project below: an all-terrain autonomous land drone.
