About Brent Osborn

While working on my Masters degree in biotechnology I had an opportunity to work in my lab with the best Science teacher in the world, Randy James. His love and passion for his craft changed my life forever. I finished my degree in biotech and completed a degree in teaching working with Randy James. I spent the next several years working daily on my craft with Mr. James. I fostered a passion and love for teaching. I later became an instructional coach to work with science teachers on their instructional practice. That work was inspiring because of the incredible teachers of NCHS and what we accomplished. After NCHS hired Dr. Steven Gering as principal again my life took a turn. he challenged me to be better, to read more, to lead. I interned for Steven and found the profession of instructional leader can help change an entire school and community. I then took my first administrative role at John R. Rogers High School in Spokane. That work collaborating with an amazing team of leaders and teachers was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Our work together changed the trajectory of Spokane's highest poverty students. Now as the principal of Lakeside High school in Nine Mile Falls I am experiencing the advantages of a small school and community. We have done great work with amazing students and staff and are now one of the highest rated schools in Eastern Washington. My career has been defined by my opportunities to work with the absolute best people.
