About Brent Phillips

Over the many years I worked for CECA (Center for Excellence in Computing Applications), we would look for the latest technologies and determine how they could be used to improve education. We implemented several technologies for the first time at UTC. Those included the first Wi-Fi deployment in the library. We piloted and deployed the first online learning technology (Web Class in a Box). We deployed the first Active Directory and Exchange server on campus. We implemented the first paperless document system on campus (Nolij). While I worked for CECA, our team had many "firsts" for the campus. I really enjoyed my time working for CECA. Next I moved to Central IT. I started off by migrating our users from on-prem Exchange to Exchange Online. After all our users were in Office 365, I was also given the responsibility of managing our IDM system and most of the applications supported on campus, while also support Office 365. My current responsibilities are managing our endpoint devices. I manage our Microsoft Endpoint Management Configuration Manager and Jamf services. That includes software deployment and patching. I am also responsible for our Active Directory's.
