Background
About Brent Snavely
After spending 24 years as a journalist I took the plunge and dove into the world of public relations. Over the past seven years, I have gained deep experience working with automotive, financial and crisis communication clients and can offer all clients a special expertise in media relations. At Franco, I provide media relations counsel internally across our firm and externally to many of our clients with a special focus on the automotive and mobility industry and our auto clients. At Franco, I have led media relations for two major industry conferences, a major tier one supplier, have led large group and small group media training for executives and have developed and place content across multiple accounts. Before joining Franco, I worked for Lambert for more than four years. At Lambert, I led media relations for a major tier one automotive supplier as well as the North American International Auto Show during the COVID-19 era and also led media relations efforts for two publicly traded manufactures as they navigated their way through environmental issues. Prior that, I worked for the Detroit Free Press for nine years, for Crain’s Detroit Business for nine years, a daily newspaper for three years and for a chain of suburban weekly newspapers for three years. During the Great Recession, I had front row seat to the restructuring of Ford Motor Company while Alan Mulally was CEO and then covered Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as Sergio Marchionne resurrected that automaker from near-death during its bankruptcy and turned it into a healthy, credible global automaker. Along the way, I led the Free Press’ coverage of UAW contract talks in 2011 and 2015 and also served as a key member of the paper’s team of reporters that chronicled Detroit’s descent into and out of Chapter 9 bankruptcy. Speaking of bankruptcy, I also have written about the bankruptcies of Borders Books, Dura Automotive, Frank’s Nursery, Federal-Mogul, Kmart, Jacobson's Department Stores, Plastech and several others. It’s been a wild ride so far, and it ain’t over yet. PLEASE NOTE: Views posted here are my own.
