About Bret Melby

For much of the past two decades, I served as the IT Director, and later as Marketing Manager, for Thermomass, a construction materials manufacturing company headquartered in Boone, Iowa. I was involved in a wide range of projects from network design and database deployments to website design and advertising campaigns. After a year away, working on my own as a freelance consultant, graphic designer, and web developer; I returned to Thermomass in November 2015 as its Marketing and Communication Manager. In 2019, I assumed the same role for Meadow Burke and Halfen USA, two other firms under the global brand of CRH, North America's largest manufacturer of building materials. In November 2020, those three companies, along with others from around the world, joined to form Leviat; uniting the expertise, skills and resources of CRH’s construction accessories companies into a single global organization. My focus is making sure our North American teams and product lines are featured in a manner that accurately reflects their positions as global leaders in the engineered concrete building products industry. In my free time, I still love helping small organizations attract clients from around the country and beyond by leveraging the power of the internet along with modern, elegant and affordable standards-based web development.I count myself very fortunate to get to work for an exciting, world-class organization during the day, and in my free time help several terrific clients on a variety of design projects for websites, logos, brochures and other graphic design campaigns.
