Background
About Bret Tyrey
Before I switched to the Aviation Field, I was a Journeyman Carpenter with Kirkwood Stair Co. In 1982, I graduated from Parks College of St. Louis University with my Airframe and Powerplant License. I began work at McDonnell Douglas in 1984 as a Sheet Metal Assembler/Riveter, changing classification to F18 Flight Mechanic in 1987. I've worked on the F15, AV8B Harrier and T-45 Trainer as well. I became an Optical Restoration Specialist in 1987 and became the Lead Specialist in 1993, taking care of all Flight Ramp Optical Repairs for the next 22 years. In 2006, I started transition to Flight Inspector, changing classification to Flight Inspector in 2015, 6 months before retirement.
