About Brett A. Robison

Brett embarked on his professional journey in financial services, where he initially honed his analytical and problem-solving skills working on complex algorithmic trading solutions. His true passion however, was always in the world of hospitality and beer. He left financial services for a beer career back in 2010. Throughout his tenure since, Brett has consistently demonstrated his unwavering commitment to advancing the craft beer industry in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He has meticulously designed comprehensive training programs aimed at educating and empowering taproom personnel, managers, and owners. His expertise in POS (Point of Sale) implementation has made him a sought-after consultant for fund managers evaluating publicly traded POS providers. On a smaller scale, he has consulted with countless small business owners and has more recently focused his attention on assisting breweries in streamlining their hospitality operations and maximizing efficiency. Brett's unwavering advocacy for the craft beer industry has positioned him as a vocal ambassador, tirelessly promoting the unique challenges that craft beer faces in hospitality. He continues to play a significant role in the development of Maryland craft beer and self-distribution practices within Montgomery County and Maryland. Brett has worked alongside legislators to reform several beer and liquor laws in Montgomery County; specifically he helped plan and create a new class of liquor license for retailers in Montgomery County formally known as class BD-BWL. Brett has given presentations to the Maryland Economic Matters Committee describing the need for a greater brewery presence in Montgomery County and the state of Maryland. He has testified before the Maryland State Senate regarding beer distribution laws and the current state of the industry. Brett continues to maintain a strong network amongst legislators, brewers and retailers. In 2019, Brett co-founded Silver Branch Brewing Company. Recognized as an Advanced Cicerone® and a BJCP Certified Beer Judge, Brett possesses a profound understanding of beer styles, brewing techniques, and sensory evaluation. His ability to discern subtle nuances and flavors in beer, coupled with his extensive knowledge of beer history and culture, has earned him respect and admiration within the brewing community. He loves to nerd out when the time is right, but he loves making beer easy and accessible to everyone. Brett loves sharing his insights and expertise with beer enthusiasts and fellow brewery owners alike.
