About Brett Larson

I am currently finishing my second AmeriCorps term as an Environmental Educator serving with the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group. In that position, my main responsibilities included educating youth about salmon ecology and environment conservation. I would give presentations in schools, lead nature tours with classes on field trips, and manage both youth and teen summer camp programs. I graduated from Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Arts and Science with a major focus on environmental science. There I received training in cost-benefit analysis, taxonomic ID, and field observation among other subjects. Other experience includes volunteering at the Seattle Aquarium as an ocean advocate educating hundreds of people about our oceans. I also interned in a similar capacity with the Puget Sound Estuarium in Olympia, continuing with environmental education and learning the workings of a small non-profit.
