I apply my scientific expertise to ensure products are engaging, informative, and completed to a high scientific standard, and promote good publication practices. I’ve successfully developed and supported the development of e-learning modules, speaker training meetings, congress materials (abstracts, posters, oral presentations), manuscripts, infographics, advocacy group presentations, market access reports, and more across various therapeutic areas. Specifically, I have experience in neuroscience/neurology, rare disease, oncology, dermatology, virology, hepatology, and cardiovascular/kidney disease. In addition to agency experience, I also have over four years of experience in freelance medical writing and editing, during which I successfully translated complex scientific data into diverse types of accessible and compelling outputs (eg, publications, infographics, clinical evaluation reports, product summaries, etc), within promotional, educational, and regulatory domains. As a Medical Science Advisor for Nuraleve, I provided pharmacovigilance, during which I conducted post-market surveillance and systematic literature reviews, and I convened with teams in a cross-functional manner to inform and discuss clinical evidence of tDCS. Last, but not least, I hold a PhD in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Guelph, where I specialized in using pre-clinical models to reverse translate clinical findings as means to gain deeper understanding of underlying psychological/biological mechanisms of stress-based mental health disorders. Specifically, I developed expertise in the treatment of stress-based mood disorders (particularly, depression) and focused on inflammation (and “neuroinflammatory” processes), nutritional neuroscience, and stressor interaction as they each relate to depression. I have authored/co-authored several publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals including J Affective Disorders, J Immunology, Psychopharmacology, and Exp and Clin Psychopharmacology.
