About Brett Marmo

I’m a technical director and simulation specialist with over 20 years of experience in structural dynamics, vibration control, and environmental acoustics — with a strong focus on the renewable energy sector. My work bridges advanced modelling and environmental impact, using tools like COMSOL Multiphysics and OrcaFlex to support offshore and onshore wind developments. I’ve contributed to major floating wind projects including Hywind Tampen, Hywind Scotland, and Kincardine, delivering structural, mooring, and underwater noise analysis aligned with consenting and regulatory frameworks. I also have deep experience in onshore wind, including long-standing technical involvement at Eskdalemuir, where I’ve supported vibration mitigation and stakeholder engagement for one of the UK’s most sensitive monitoring sites. I lead the technical team at Xi Engineering and am particularly interested in consultancy roles where I can apply technical depth in support of planning, permitting, and design — especially where engineering insight helps inform environmental assessment and system performance from the early stages.
