About Brett Scarlett

Dr Scarlett has 40 years experience in technology and business; he’s a Strategic Advisor, Commercial Manager, Business Consultant and Company Director. Dr Scarlett has a significant depth and breadth of understanding in relation to conventional and innovative business strategies; and has worked with a wide range of organisations on programs such as: business initiatives requiring strategic, process and delivery-mode changes; transformational outsourcing deals; business cases for major projects; the assessment of financing proposals for operating businesses and business acquisitions; and the formation and sale of businesses. He’s a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has academic qualifications in science and business disciplines. He has extensive experience in IT service delivery (large scale complex IT outsourcing); in roles such as Commercial / Vendor Relationship Manager and with IT product and services sourcing. This drew upon his earlier IT project management, management consulting and systems integration service delivery experience. The practical foundation of his broader business perspective has come from working with different organisations (such as NBN, Australia Post, Telstra, Oracle); and by working on such things as business cases for major IT projects; the assessment of financing proposals for operating businesses and business acquisitions; and proposals for business initiatives requiring strategic, process and delivery-mode changes. Education completed: Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Science & Mathematics); Masters of Business (Management & International Business by Research); and Doctor of Philosophy (Management & International Business).
