About Brett Tamminga

My name is Brett Tamminga and I am a certified Engineer-in-Training. I graduated and obtained my Bachelors Degree of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis at North Dakota State University. I passed the Fundamentals of Engineering test in February of 2017. I have five years of past job experience in civil/structural engineering related jobs. These include three internships and three full-time jobs across Colorado, Minnesota, and North Dakota. I have worked in numerous sectors such as geotechnical, commercial structural design, industrial structural design, power delivery/utilities, and general contracting. After 4 years of post-graduate Structural Engineering I decided to do a career switch to StructuraI Estimating. I currently have two years of estimating experience in structural steel. I've estimated jobs ranging from a couple thousand dollars to tens of millions of dollars. My past experience as a Structural EIT has helped me to accel in the structural steel field, gaining a complete understanding of estimates very quickly. I'm able to interpret most if not all structural drawings with few questions and am able to fill in the empty gaps if I'm unable to get clarifications in time for bids.
