About Brett Wiggins

I have had the opportunity to work in various clinical settings as both a therapy tech and as a PTA student during my clinical rotations. I spent 3 years working as a tech in an inpatient rehab facility that specialized in traumatic brain injury and stroke, basing therapy sessions on the ideas of neuroplasticity and working with other therapists in a transdisciplinary model. I spent 3 weeks at a clinical rotation in a skilled nursing facility that specialized in dementia patients, 7 weeks in a long term acute care facility focusing on rebuilding the function of patients suffering from respiratory failure and other complex issues, and 7 weeks at an outpatient facility working with TBI, stroke, spinal cord injury, and learning to treat vestibular issues. Before my interest in therapy I worked as a full-time youth pastor for 10 years. In that time, I honed my skills in interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, management of employees and volunteers, and I developed administrative skills through time and resource management.
