About Brian Ager

Brian joined Bakkt following the acquisition of RCG. Brian began his FX career in 1994 while at AIG in London. Brian started on the FX spot desk and was promoted to the FX sales desk in 1995 where he managed the firm’s high priority clients. In 1998 Brian was transferred to AIG’s head office to continue his role in expanding the firm’s global client base. In Brian joined Citibank in New York to prospect and manage high profile clients, including hedge funds, proprietary and systematic trading accounts. Goals included prospecting a new client Citibank had been pursuing for over five years. Brian became the client’s top three FX provider within six months, clearing over $18Bn in spot business. Brian prospected an FX options portfolio fund and quickly ranked client’s number one provider of Emerging Market and number two in G7, executing over $22Bn in options. Brian was also instrumental in developing Citibank's external FX management fund program, introducing the first two high profile clients to this offering. Brian joined RBC in 2004 to expand the global team and increase revenues through exceptional account relationships. In 2005 he moved to RBC’s head office in Toronto to work closer with the spot, interest rates and options desk. In 2009 Brian started at RCG in New York to expand the foreign exchange desk and refine liquidity for the firm’s pricing engine by managing liquidity provider relationships and build a prestigious client base. Brian joined RJO in 2011 as Sr Dr of FX Sales to initiate the New York FX desk. Brian, along with his team executed spot, swaps, forwards and EFPs for a global client base. Brian joined RCG in 2017 as President of Institutional Foreign Exchange to build a new FX division. Brian oversaw every aspect, focusing on technology and liquidity provider relationships, developing a solid trust with bank and non-bank LPs. Brian was instrumental in leveraging trade analytics and algorithmic structures to ensure best execution.
