About Brian Babb

People have asked me ‘Why did you interrupt your career and go back to school?’ At first glance, it might seem strange that I would leave a relatively new position in which I had achieved a fair amount of success in an environment that made me feel valued and rewarded. To understand why I made this decision, one must first understand my professional vision, which is to be an impactful leader who personifies the values of honesty, integrity, and hard work. I pursue this vision through an unwavering commitment to continuous learning and its twin, continuous improvement. I actively pursue knowledge and energetically apply what I have learned. The result is the acquisition of new skills or the development of existing ones. The most important of these skills are those that support my capacity to critically analyze, which in turn sharpen my ability to problem solve and to make decisions. These constitute the foundation upon which my approach to leadership is built. The study of Project Management overlays a methodological framework that focuses on planning, execution, and the management of change. It also includes all of the knowledge areas required for these efforts to be successful. The management of time, cost, and scope; as well as risk, quality, and communication. More importantly, it promotes a code of ethics and professional conduct that reinforces my core values. So ‘why did I interrupt my career’ you ask? I didn’t. I advanced it and by doing so I took a giant step towards realizing my vision.
