About Brian Bawtinheimer

I am a natural resource management professional with 35 years experience in a wide variety of sector business areas including protected areas, land use planning, Indigenous/provincial government collaboration, recreation, compliance and enforcement, cultural heritage, climate change, wildlife and habitat conservation, and natural resource development. My success has been built on extensive experience analyzing and resolving complex policy issues, leading teams and organisations successfully through change, and by demonstrating strong integrity and vision. In addition, I build strong relations involving all governments (Indigenous, federal, provincial, regional and municipal), stakeholders, and community organisations through interest-based negotiations, effective engagement processes, and positive dispute resolution. Additionally, I have led national committees on behalf of British Columbia and have attended national and international business events. I continue to participate in international protected area projects and stay active in global protected area management and expertise. My experience provides me unique perspectives that contribute to my strong relationship building skills, demonstrated collaboration skills, business acumen and strategic foresight.
