About Brian Berg

Brian Berg led a 25-year career as a police K9 handler and supervisor. After Brian’s retirement, he continued sharing his knowledge of canine behavior and training by founding K9 Basics dog training. The goal of K9 Basics dog training is to create better relationships between dogs and their owners through behavior modifications and problem-solving. While growing K9 Basics dog training into a million-dollar venture Brian and his wife Lisa acquired Clif Wyck Farm Kennels, an 11 acre complex in 2008. Under Brian’s leadership, Clif Wyck Farm Kennels has also experienced exponential growth. In 2015 Brian and Lisa acquired 13 more acres for Clifwyck Farms which expanded the facility to 24 acres. In 2018, Brian and Lisa went on to acquire Volhard Dog Nutrition, a national dog food company focused on a natural canine diet with quality food-grade products. Brian and his team have worked diligently to ensure the continued growth of Volhard Dog Nutrition, and under his leadership, the company has experienced annual growth exceeding 30% year-over-year. Brian and Lisa have a heart for philanthropy through their non-profit Semper Fido, an organization committed to providing service dogs to assist men and women who have been diagnosed with PTSD and/or traumatic brain injuries as a result of their military service. Furthermore, the organization helps unwanted dogs in animal shelters and rescues find lasting homes as service dogs.
