About Brian Chang

As a labour organizer, I’ve worked at PSAC and SEIU supporting solidarity and workers’ rights. I'm currently a Campaigns Officer at the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO). I’m proud of the work I’ve done in successful organizing drives, on campaigns such as We Own It and Keep Hydro Public, and many workplace enhancements that make a real difference in the lives of workers. As a performing artist, I’m an active choral musician, singing most often with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and in collaboration with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. I have written hundreds of published articles and columns promoting the vibrant Toronto music and culture scene as a freelance journalist. As a community organizer, I’ve taught alongside Olivia Chow at the Chang School and the Institute for Change Leaders at Ryerson University and across the province. In addition to years of service with local organizations such as the 519 and ACAS, I’ve spent over a decade advocating for equity, fairness, and inclusion in our diverse communities. As a New Democrat, I’ve worked on campaigns including those of Jagmeet Singh as Operations Director, Olivia Chow as Office Manager, Andrea Horwath on Leader’s Tour, and supporting the campaigns of candidates such as Felicia Samuel and Suze Morrison.
