About Brian Chng

I’m driven by the challenge of turning technical concepts into real-world results. With a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical Power Engineering and a Diploma in Engineering with Business, I bridge hands-on engineering with commercial thinking. Along the way I’ve built strong foundations in power systems, control and electronics, plus practical skills in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, circuit troubleshooting, soldering and wiring.Through my projects and internships, i have experience in MATLAB energy management system and integrating sensor PCBs on a line-following buggy, to leading improvement projects in a high-volume semiconductor fab. Through this experience I’ve learnt how to analyse problems, design practical solutions and communicate technical ideas clearly to different audiences.Today, I work as a Regional Sales Engineer, supporting customers across Southeast Asia in the photonics and semiconductor space. In my first year in this completely new industry, I helped drive 7-figure revenue, translating complex photonics technologies into solutions that fit real customer needs. What I enjoy most is learning fast, solving meaningful problems and taking ownership from idea to outcome. If you’d like to connect around engineering, semiconductors, photonics or potential collaborations, I’m always open to a conversation.
