With a rich background as both a professional artist and art educator, I bring over 27 years of experience working with diverse clients, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Throughout my career, I have engaged in a wide array of artistic endeavors, serving notable clients such as Chrysler MOPAR, Lamborghini, and Sinai Grace Hospital (Tenet). My expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of creative services, including web design, illustration (realism and cartooning), painting, graphic design, animation, and digital art. Notably, I have also operated my own business, where I adeptly handled a range of artistic tasks, from traditional techniques to graphic art. In my capacity as both a full-time and freelance designer, I have played a pivotal role in the execution of graphics, visual merchandising, and marketing initiatives that align with strategic goals, branding objectives, and consumer preferences. Working closely under the guidance of a Senior Designer and Creative Design Manager, I have consistently contributed to the successful implementation of marketing programs. As an esteemed teacher within Detroit Public Schools, I have had the privilege of instructing introductory classes in various artistic disciplines. These include painting, animation, graphic/website design, drawing, digital illustration, and 3D art. My teaching methodology emphasizes a sequential learning approach, starting with the mastery of line control and progressing to the comprehension of predetermined pathways such as 1-point and 2-point perspectives. Subsequently, I guide students in utilizing these foundational skills to create more organic shapes, fostering a transition from a systematic process to the realm of freehand drawing. At the core of all artistic approaches lies the design process, where drawing serves as the fundamental root. By empowering individuals with strong drawing abilities, I enable them to embark on the exciting journey of design.
