About Brian Culp

During my career at Intel Corporation, I developed and supported numerous solutions on Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems. My strategies for problem solving, documentation and solution management made every team I was on more effective. I am committed to a disciplined approach to systems administration, from initial engagement to thorough documentation and support.There are many things that go into a successful IT team well beyond the technical expertise of its members, like understanding what makes each member tick and finding ways for them to be both successful and happy. Some people thrive on coding, others on hardening and troubleshooting and still others in customer engagement. I find great satisfaction in achieving not only my own success, but also in helping other team members to achieve theirs through mentoring and engagement. Collaborative, stable, fulfilled teams with a high degree of trust are the core of a successful IT organization.My roles as Infrastructure and DevOps Storage Engineer provided me the opportunity to take my skills in Linux, performance troubleshooting and critical data protection to the next level. I designed and deployed a cost-effective, storage-agnostic archive solution meeting petabyte-scale requirements. By closely listening to customer needs, I implemented strategies that address complex business requirements they face such as geographically distributed immutable data, security in depth, and self service capabilities via multiple protocols and interfaces.For additional skill descriptions and examples of accomplishments, please refer to my work experience section.
