About Brian Donohue

My name is Brian Donohue. I am 29 years old and I am a qualified plumber. During the summer holidays, when I was in school and college, I would assist my father in his plumbing work (2010-2017). After school I attended CIT (2011- 2015), where I obtained a level 8 degree, BEng (Hon) in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. In the first year, I done Common Entry Engineering, as I didn't know which discipline of Engineering to pursue. During my block release in 3rd year, I went to Capwell Bus Depo in Cork. My third year project was on rain water harvesting. My 4th year (final year) project was on infrared ceramic heaters. After unsuccessfully finding a job in the engineering industry, I decided to join my father as an apprentice plumber in his plumbing business, Cork Enterprise Services. I was with my father for phase 1, 3, 5 and 7 (2017 – present). For phase 2, I was in KETB (2018). For phase 4, I was at CIT. For phase 6, I attended MTU (CIT renamed). in February 2022, I received my Plumbing qualification, QQI level 6 Advanced Certificate in the Craft of Plumbing (with Distinction).
