About Brian Duffy

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 2002, I subsequently moved into the Banking/Finance sector, joining ACCBank in 2004. I have 4 years Relationship Management experience within Business Banking, and 8 years recovery and restructuring experience. I moved into my first management position in 2010. I consistently grew and developed both my technical and management skillset culminating in my appointment as Head of a new unit within ACCLM in mid-2014. I was then responsible for 5 teams around the country, with 35 staff and a book size of c.€450mln. I personally grew the Unit from its initial commencement, designing key processes and procedures, and applying lean management techniques as matters progressed, in order to achieve an efficient, risk-based, results-driven model. I led and coached less experienced members of staff, imparting the knowledge and experience gained throughout my career. I was a primary discretion holder, and a voting member of ACC Loan Management's Credit Committee from January 2013 until I finished in July 2016. In September 2016, following the outsource of ACC Loan Management's loanbook, I sought a new challenge within a different environment. I joined Grant Thornton's Financial Services Advisory division. I have successfully led and delivered major programmes for an Irish Pillar Bank, while concurrently being integral to the growth of our Financial Services Consultancy business. I continuously leverage my considerable sectoral experience to provide trusted advice and guidance to our clients. In late 2019, I was promoted to the position of Director. I am extremely self-motivated, self-sufficient, hard-working and results-driven. I enjoy leading by example, and have strong interpersonal skills.
