Brian Dykstra is a Canadian entrepreneur and business leader with over 35 years of experience specializing in the human aspect of human resources as it pertains to the Cement, Aggregate, Construction, Transportation and Sales Industries. As the founder of People First Recruiting, Brian is poised to grow his organization into one of Canada’s best privately held recruitment firms. Born and raised in Barrie Ontario, Brian's entrepreneurial journey began with his father in 1985 as a partner in Dykstra Fuels Limited supplying home heating fuel, diesel fuel and off road fuels to the construction industry in Central Ontario. Brian's journey took him to Ritchie Bros Auctioneers where he had the distinct pleasure of working alongside construction industry icons the likes of Dave Ritchie, Don McIntyre, and Sylvain Touchette, Kevin Tink and the late Jean Marie Boucher and others. Ritchie Bros Auctioneers took Brian around the world but what was so simple and the most important lesson that was learned was twofold and was the same the world over, “Treat your customers like friends and they’ll always be your customers"(thank you Dave Ritchie) and “People deal with People First". These basic principles hold true today and are used as guidance in everything People First Recruiting does. Being a smaller company some may call boutique, allows Brian and the team at People First Recruiting the time to fully understand the needs of their clients and immerse themselves in the roles that they are asked to fill. Understanding the expectations, culture, needs and demands is what makes People First Recruiting different and sets them apart from others in the industry. A champion of people, Brian also provides one-on-one coaching to support all in achieving their academic dreams and is a proud supporter of all the co-op programs across Ontario, especially Georgian College and Ted Rogers School of Management.
