About Brian Finkelmeyer

What started as an attempt to get a free interview trip to Los Angeles, turned into a meaningful career in the best business there is, the Car Business. When I was a senior in college, Nissan North America was interviewing on campus for Consumer Affairs Associates. I had no desire to work in a call center, but had never seen the Pacific Ocean so it seemed like a worthwhile trip. After accepting the Consumer Affairs Associate job offer, I quickly learned that I actually liked talking to customers and finding ways to creatively address their problems. This ability to quickly connect with people and identify solutions has proven to be quite valuable to me over the last 22 years in the industry. During my time at Nissan, I was fortunate to spend time in fixed operations, finance, and new car sales. As I moved up in the organization, I was able to lean on my creative instincts to completely redesign a number of sales channels which yielded over incremental sales per year. Since joining vAuto I've had the fortunate opportunity to work with the best team in the industry and help Dealers across the country re-think their approach to the new car business. The "Sell More, Make More" new car equation is broken. I spend my days talking, writing, and thinking about how New Car Dealers can succeed in this hyper competitive, margin compressed environment. It's figuring out the next creative way to overcome the most difficult challenges in the industry that continues to motivate me and makes me thankful that I took that interview trip to LA.
