When is the safety talk in everyday life too much? Over this past summer, and as we move into Fall, I have noticed a lack of caring about our "Neighbor Person's" take on being generally safe. Have you noticed your drive to and from work is becoming more stressful, why is this? Well in a nut shell, money, cost of living, daily stressors that never seem to go away. Something else I figured out. Smiling at your neighbor while sitting at a light really messes with peoples view of how the world moves. To me a smile is an innocent gesture of peace and wishing wellbeing to the recipients of said smile. Its's a start to change a culture of stress, kind of the same way a culture of being safe becomes a way of life. My advice, KEEP SMILING! Well my Commercial Driving days have come to an end. It's kind of a bittersweet learning and acceptance day. Unfortunately my Left Knee has revolted against me for the last time, for not allowing it enough movement during a normal Long Haul Truck Drivers career. I believe it's time to seek a desk driving job that allows more freedom to stand, stretch, and walking during a productive day. I found my Fit! Lets get busy, Team Rosenau Currently working on my Certified Transportation Safety Professional (CTSP) designation through AMTA. Its been a ride to say the least, just completed the last course required and I can write the final exam. With 25+ years in the industry, I have seen new and improved things come and go, old ways of doing things become the new norm. The only thing that has really changed, is the conversation about working safe. Back in the day, it was getter done, move on to the next challenge. Not so much these days, defiantly a huge step in the right direction. Today June 28, 2023 I found out that the "Eleanor" of my Safety career has come with a feeling of Freedom. For the past 4 years I have been working towards a Goal that I can be Proud of, and with it comes a sense of belonging and realization that I belong to a group of people that try to make a difference. I personally don't want to reinvent the wheel, but help provide information on how to keep it rolling smoothly, to whom ever needs a lil suggestion at times. Today I learned I passed my CTSP final Exam.
