I am a licensed sea captain (Unlimited Master, Oceans with OIM endorsement) working in offshore energy and oil & gas exploration on dynamically-positioned ultra-deepwater drill ships and semi-submersibles in Colombia, Singapore, Trinidad, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt and the Gulf of Mexico. Currently hold: · Master Unlimited, Oceans license - USCG, Liberia, Marshall Islands · OIM endorsement - USCG, Liberia, Marshall Islands · Barge Supervisor's certificate - USCG, Liberia, Marshall Islands · DPO Unlimited certificate - Nautical Institute · 1600-ton Master Sail, Oceans license - USCG I have 40+ years of maritime experience in a wide-ranging variety of positions including tramp freighters, tall ships, private yachts, supply boats. semi-subs and drill ships. I can document over hours of DP experience. I have experience with USCG, ABS, and DNV audits and inspections, including IMS Code, IMO Code, STCW regulations, SOLAS regulations, CFRs, MARPOL regulations, OVIDs, QHSE, ISPS security audits, environmental regulations, FMEA trials and DP trials and audits. My education and experience has been broad-based and multi-disciplined, with a strong combination of practical and theoretical knowledge that allows me to effectively manage a variety of people and situations. My BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering gives me the technical background to converse easily with clients, support personnel, crew members, company representatives and vessel management. As a captain, supervisor, manager, facilitator and coordinator, I endeavor to be both efficient and pragmatic, balancing the needs of the company with the desires of the client. I believe in maintaining a cooperative and collaborative environment where all members of the team have input and are part of the overall operation. I am pro-active about safety, striving to anticipate issues before they become problems.
