About Brian Gulbraa

I am a detail-oriented, results-driven, and ambitious Accounting Student at MacEwan University, currently in my fourth year of study. I aspire to work toward the CPA designation upon my graduation (anticipated December, 2025). As an accounting major, I recognize the importance of data analysis skills in accounting fields. As a result, I declared a Business Intelligence minor to compliment an accounting major. Through this minor, I have gained valuable knowledge of the use of data analytics in business scenarios, as well as a thorough understanding of various analytical and visualization tools, such as Python, R, Tableau, and PowerBI. I’m also a graduate of ​MacEwan University's School of Business; I finished the Business Management program in 2023, graduating with distinction. The Business Management program allowed me to study several topics, such as leadership development, finance, marketing, psychology, and business law, which built solid foundational business knowledge from numerous perspectives. Upon graduation from this program, in June 2023, I was fortunate to be awarded the Dean's Medal for Academic Excellence in a Diploma Program by Dr. Richard Perlow, Dean of the MacEwan University School of Business. Through the business management program, and my leadership experience with Urban Barn, I discovered my passion for people management. Two of an organization’s most valuable assets are its people and culture, which are challenging to develop and manage. To further develop my own knowledge, I’ve conducted several research studies on leadership development and leadership tactics in the workplace for both school assignments and personal interest.
