About Brian Helgeson

I have recently returned to the United States after residing in southern Spain for the last ten years. I am ready to begin employment immediately and am excited for my next career venture. Before moving to Spain in 2010 I worked in sales and marketing which provided me insight to what my strengths were and how to use them to professionally benefit my employers and as well as myself. During my time in Spain I fell in love with the country. Every day was different. There was always more to learn and new ways to grow in my personal and professional life. I began working in the tourism/hospitality industry. from the ground up. I learned how to be a tour guide in Seville during my first year. In the following years I received several promotions working for a company called Pancho Tours. My passion for the job was made clear through my diligence and ambition. I moved throughout southern Spain managing three cities in the process. Eventually I settled in Malaga Spain where I spent most of my years abroad. I had gained several contacts during my earlier years of experience within the city. This network with various businesses such as hostels, hotels, bars, nightclubs and restaurants were essential to better my professional opportunities. In 2013 I co-founded a company called Explora Malaga which is now the number one rated tour company in the city. Apart from running my own operation in Malaga, I would often plan, manage and guide excursions to other cities such as Seville and Cadiz. Companies such as Malaga South Experience found my services essential due to my experience and contacts in these other cities. I began my own operation in my final years called Malaga by Night. My goal was to become the one and only nightly event planning service in the city of Malaga. Unfortunately, I was forced to cease business operations in June 2020 and return to the United States. This was a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has had a profoundly negative impact on the tourism/hospitality industry in southern Spain. I will forever value my time living overseas and I plan to use what I have learned to better myself here in the United States. I look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
