About Brian Helming

I have been working with my hands since I was a toddler. Ever since I can remember I have loved systems and how things integrate with one another. I found my passion for production at a young age. Before I was even aloud to have a job I would go work anywhere I could running cables, plugging in lights and mics, and figuring out consoles. It lead me to my first real job at a locally owned lighting rental service in San Diego. I have never worked another job in my entire life besides in the event industry. I love what I do and have never wondered in any point in my life what I was supposed to do with my life. From that young age I grew my network and eventually found myself steady freelance work. The world of freelance brought me into the network of touring and eventuually my opportunity struck to get on the road. It started off slowly at first because I was only 18 and technically wasn't aloud in many of the venues. Luckily I have always looked older than I am and the identites of those Tour Managers early on will go with me to my grave. Touring lead me to where I am. I rapidly expanded my network and skillset on the road, quickly working up and securing strong positions for large scale tours. All my closest friends in the industry that have lead to all my best successes were found in those first 5 years on the road. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be where I am now. I learned about leadership, planning, teamwork, and the importance of who knows you. At this point in my career more than 10 years keeping up with those important contacts has lead me to a new and exciting positon to be apart of the ground work of a new creative agency in the event design world.
