Background
About Brian Higgins
I bring passion and learning. I follow it with initiative, team-building, critical thinking, vision, leadership, talent development, innovation, process analysis, project management, and building stakeholder buy-in. I believe that people can excel and innovate when they work together with passion on scoped work with the right processes in place to drive success, limit failures, support critical relationships, and craft strategic communications. Broad Skills-Leadership: 22 years as a Naval Officer leading groups and teams of various sizes including Executive Teams, Major Departments, Aviation Squadrons, cross-functional teams, intelligence teams, and 3-4 man aircraft crews over the horizon. I have often built teams in skill areas where I have minimal expertise in the subject matter. Most recently, I assumed the role of Facilities and Requirements for CNATRA. I have little experience with DOD Program Management Acquisitions, Facilities Maintenace, Facilities Military Construction Projects, Ground Based System Contracting, Aircraft and Avionics Acquisitions, new platform rollout. However, I have quickly gained the expertise necessary to lead this team and take CNATRA to the next level for its Strategic Line of Effort for Facilities Improvement-Strategic Storytelling: I learned early on that the greatest idea can fall short if it cannot be communicated in the right way to the right people. This may take different forms of presentation such as in-person presentations, email, business writing, papers, charts and graphs, creative writing,"read-books," etc. What matters is the story, and I take pride in taking raw ideas and crafting them into an accurate yet pleasing story that can be practically digested by the intended audience(s). I have successfully orated strategic stories with passion at many levels of the Armed Forces and US Government. Global perspective. I have engaged in professional leadership and relationship-building in over 30 countries around the globe. I provided global security in multiple high profile choke points and led an intelligence team in trans-regional global network analysis. Work ethic. I will give it everything I have, every day with passion and enthusiasm-Many other intangibles that are fun to discuss.
