About Brian Hoffman

My first job was as a custodian at a school when I was 14 years old. I worked for my dad, which is probably part of the reason I ended up working there on and off for a decade. That, and the fact that I found myself in my mid 20's as a college graduate with a degree in History looking for a career during a major recession. Short of returning to school, I was at a loss for where I was headed. Where I found myself was taking the first job I could find that was at a good company and provided me an opportunity to earn a career. I worked in an entry level position for about a year and a half until one day, by dumb luck, I was able to capitalize on an opportunity and begin my career in QA. I was hired as an entry level QA tester in 2012. I have spent the last decade plus refining my skills and increasing my knowledge in the insurance industry. Since 2012, I have worked diligently at increasing my skills, knowledge, and standing in my department. I have attained my CTFL and AINS designations; and supplemented my skillset with a plethora of management and leadership courses offered by my company. By 2018, I had become a lead QA. In 2020, I became the QA supervisor, and helped lead that group through all of the challenges presented by the pandemic. In late 2022, as a result of some organizational changes, my role shifted and I now lead a team of developers and QA testers. I'm passionate about the work that I do, and proud of what I have accomplished thus far. I'm motivated, trustworthy, and compassionate. I have never, and would never, ask something from someone that I wouldn't do myself. I'm confident in myself, and my ability to lead others.
