About Brian Hoffman
My real estate journey began in 1982 when I obtained my salesperson registration. In 1985, I became a registered broker where I pursued a lifetime career in the real estate industry, with a specialty in the sale of new home projects servicing large home builders and developers including 7 years as one of Mattamy’s top salespersons. During my time with Mattamy, I also received the one-time Mattamy's President's Award for excellence in sales from Peter Gilgan. In 2007, I joined Sutton Group-Admiral Realty Inc. which is Ontario’s largest Sutton Group and one of the largest Pre-Con Platinum VIP Access Brokerages. Prior to that I was the broker of record for my own brokerage for 10 years specializing in new home and condo sales and residential resale properties throughout GTA. I became a certified real estate instructor for the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) in 2003 and facilitated the residential courses (Course 1, 2 and 3) for more than 16 years. I earned the reputation as one of the top instructors providing quality instruction throughout Ontario. In June 2018, I was hired by NIIT as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review, develop and create content for the new real estate salesperson program for the RECO Project. NIIT is the Canadian arm of NIIT Ltd, a listed online training services company, who was chosen by the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) to create, develop and deliver the new real estate curriculum to be provided by Humber College. In September of 2018, I became the residential Content Architect overseeing the entire residential curriculum and was the last eyes on all the deliveries to RECO. I was instrumental in the creation and development of the groundbreaking Residential and Commercial Simulations. These simulation sessions were designed to enable learners to apply their knowledge and skills gained from the eLearning portion of the program to real-life scenarios in a structured and interactive classroom environment requiring mandatory attendance. I also managed a team of subject matter experts in the creation and development of multiple forms (derivative exam question paper sets) created for all the real estate courses, which are to be used alternatively to test learners. The complete program was successfully launched in 2021. Since April 2022, I have been involved in the development of a new program of real estate courses designed to the enhance the practical development of new real estate agents as well experienced agents looking to grow and maintain their business interests.
