About Brian Howard

Technology is my calling in life. I always knew I would go into a creative field. Throughout my childhood I took an interest in Art and developed a passion for it throughout grade school. When I got to college I wanted to try something different and I took my first C programming class. I was instantly hooked. One part puzzle solving, one part ingenuity and one part imagination. Who knew that writing code could be so creative? A digital canvas with no limitations beyond my own imaginations. I absorbed everything I could about computer science, I couldn't get enough! My passion for my new found calling lead to me to graduating summa cum laude from the University of Texas. I spent a few years in a corporate job learning everything I could, always on the lookout for interesting projects that could challenge my technical skills, but I found it lacking in that creative spark that I crave. Then Apple released the first iPhone. I was captivated. Here was the genesis of people and technology - the future in the present. I knew I had to be a part of it. I quite my corporate job and founded InMotion Software. Since then I have been on an amazing journey. I have been able to pursue a career in gaming (another passion of mine), developing over 30 mobile games and apps - 6 making it into the top 100 or greater, and 1 Top Paid game. I spent years developing a custom game engine (Emblazed) honing my technical skills learning about low level graphics and C++. I grew my company from a small gaming company into a full stack digital agency. Now 12 years on I have had the opportunity to work with and mentor hundreds of developers, develop apps, solutions, platforms, etc for major fortune 500 companies. I have scratched my itch for technology by working with dozens of languages (C/C++, Obj-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin, Python, Lua, Javascript, C#, etc), building things on almost every major OS / Platform (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, Web, Unity, etc). Outside of mobile, I have had the opportunity to develop on blockchain, AR/VR, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and more. Most recently I have developed a new database technology from the ground up that marries blockchain, encryption, and distributed systems in a single package, testing my architectural, programming, and algorithm skills to their limits. This tech was used to successful launch a product in the mortgage appraisal industry and hopefully will find its way into many more industries in the future. I continue to look for ways to apply my ethos to solve challenging problems and push technology forward.
