About Brian Hunt

I am an economist and lecturer with expertise in international finance, global trade, and systemic risk. My professional background includes roles in international banking with U.S. Bank and Bank One, and as an open-source intelligence analyst covering economic, political, and security developments in East and Southeast Asia for Global firms. From 2004 to 2015, I served as an Economist and Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. Currently, I am a Lecturer in Economics at Clayton State University and an Economist with the Center for Research on Economic Sustainability and Trends (CREST), leading projects that support economic development in South Metro Atlanta. In 2024, I was awarded a Fulbright Specialist grant for teaching and research at Hassan II University in Casablanca, Morocco. My research focuses on international finance, systemic risk, and the impact of geopolitical uncertainty on financial markets. I am currently exploring innovative approaches to managing global uncertainty through risk instruments and market-based solutions, alongside broader interests in macroeconomic policy, volatility dynamics, and financial stability.
